The National Ranger Association

The National Ranger Association is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting the Airborne Ranger Training Brigade's LTG David E. Grange Jr. Best Ranger Competition (BRC), Ranger Hall of Fame, and the Distinguished Member of the Brigade. Their mission extends to promoting the values of the Ranger Creed, honoring distinguished Rangers, and maintaining monuments that support the Ranger mission.

This April 12th - 14th marked the monumental 40th Anniversary of the LTG David E. Grange Jr. Best Ranger Competition, often referred to as the Olympics of the US military. In celebration of this milestone, we salute the Airborne Ranger Training Brigade's dedication to showcasing the excellence of our nation's elite forces. Witness these command-selected Rangers from units worldwide as they test their physical, mental, and emotional endurance.

The National Ranger Association thrives on camaraderie, upholding the Ranger ethos, and honoring distinguished Rangers. This esteemed organization is driven by a profound mission of service, ensuring the bonds forged in military service extend far beyond the battlefield.

"It's an honor to support! It's the least I can do to help strengthen the current generation of soldiers! When you think of all the units that send competitors, the BRC is having a positive influence on our entire Army. This makes The National Ranger Association a strategic charity through which we veterans can continue to strengthen our US Army." — Chris S.

In alignment with their mission, the National Ranger Association's goal for the 40th anniversary of the Best Ranger Competition is, as always, to amplify the legacy of excellence. By encouraging esprit de corps, upholding the Ranger ethos, and providing unwavering support, they aim to elevate the significance of this milestone.

Cameron Meyers, our Director of Media, has created a compelling documentary that showcases the remarkable efforts of the National Ranger Association. This film delves into their dedication to camaraderie, excellence, internal fortitude, and legacy. Through in-depth interviews, on-the-ground footage, and behind-the-scenes access, the documentary brings to life the incredible work and mission of the Association.

We, as humans, are created to be connected and in relationship with one another. Post-service life can present unique challenges, including a loss of camaraderie, routine, purpose, and identity. The National Ranger Association focuses on cultivating and stewarding relationships to benefit our United States Army Rangers through collaboration with active duty members, civilians, industry, and veterans. They are committed to preserving the rich legacy of Rangers, safeguarding the present, and paving the way for future generations.

"I believe the Best Ranger Competition is a microcosm of the US Infantry, showcasing what makes it so special. The Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade and The National Ranger Association strategize on current Army initiatives and requirements to make the competition relevant to today’s Rangers while honoring the legacy of those who preceded them. This event is a 'can’t miss' for me every year. The National Ranger Association is the glue that holds everything together and amplifies it to the broader community." — Scott B.

As we near the end of our ATI collection cycle with the National Ranger Association, we want to remind you of the impact your support has had. Your contributions will aid three main initiatives/events:

  • Best Ranger Competition
  • Ranger Hall of Fame
  • Distinguished Member of the Brigade

The National Ranger Association actively supports a variety of community functions and activities designed to preserve Ranger lineage and foster camaraderie and esprit de corps. This quarter, we have proudly partnered with the National Ranger Association, an organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the history, lineage, and esprit de corps of Rangers, both current and retired, along with their families and the supportive civilian community.

After stepping away from the Navy in 1985 to pursue civilian life, Don soon realized that the challenges, camaraderie, and sense of purpose within the SEAL Teams were irreplaceable. He returned to the Naval Special Warfare Community in 1988, sharpening his skills at the Defense Language Institute for Spanish before joining SEAL Team FOUR. His deployments took him across the globe, including missions in the Persian Gulf and Panama, where he served with Naval Special Warfare Unit EIGHT.

“I am a United States Air Force Veteran. After my enlistment ended I was honorably discharged and continued my service as a military spouse to my husband who is a retired USAF Master Sergeant, Simon Garcia. After his retirement, he found mountain biking and joined a veteran non-profit right at its inception in 2018 called The Dirt Therapy Project (TDTP). We are now both Texas Chapter Leads & ambassadors for the program and volunteer to take veterans of all skill levels out bike-riding or hiking in the San Antonio area. I also volunteer at another veteran non-profit called Rustic Ranch. We go out to the ranch to lend a hand whether it's moving dirt, clearing land, or working the booth at their fundraiser. I also work as an assistant at an Acupuncture clinic while I finish the Texas Medical Board process to obtain my own Acupuncture license.” - Sandy Garcia
